Honouring Heritage and Empowering Women: A Memorable Heritage Day

On the 24th of September, We hosted a truly memorable Heritage Day celebration, bringing together a vibrant group of women for a day filled with joy, reflection, and inspiration. The event beautifully blended cultural appreciation with Islamic values, highlighting the strength and significance of women within our community.

From start to finish, the atmosphere was alive with laughter and learning. Attendees took part in a variety of fun and interactive activities, including Islamic trivia games where winners proudly walked away with prizes. The friendly competition encouraged both knowledge and connection — making it as educational as it was enjoyable.

Guests were also treated to delicious meals, served with care and warmth, creating a perfect space for meaningful conversations and community bonding. The highlight of the day came through a series of inspiring lectures and discussions, each offering valuable insights into the role of women in Islam and society today.

The event was further enriched by the presence of special guests, including Ward Councillor Nzimande, Islamic Careline Manager Shuhaida Adams, and the Founder of the Zodwa Khosa Foundation. Their words and wisdom added depth to the occasion, reminding everyone of the importance of unity, compassion, and continued empowerment of women in all spheres of life.

The Heritage Day event at Bilal Combined School was more than a celebration — it was a testament to the beauty of sisterhood, faith, and cultural pride. It left everyone feeling uplifted, inspired, and reminded of the powerful impact women have in shaping stronger families and communities. 🌸
